Atropine
[CAS Number 51-55-8] Atropine is the synthetically-derived form of the naturally occurring alkaloid found in the plant Atropa belladonna. Atropine is used to dilate pupils, induce tachycardia, relax smooth muscles and decrease saliva production during surgery. In larger doses, Atropine can treat some pesticide poisonings. Atropine is available as reference material (bulk powder and/or solution) and as calibrated, Ready-to-Use, certified reference material (CRM).
